Interdisciplinary Object Design (BS/BA or BFA)

interdisciplinary crafts

The program in Interdisciplinary Object Design gives students the opportunity to draw from the resources and coursework in Metalsmithing + Jewelry, Ceramics, Stained Glass, Wood, and Fibers to create a curriculum based on student interest. Students complete two levels of foundations courses in drawing, design, and art history.  This concentration prepares students for careers in art, design, craft, and entrepreneurial opportunities related to crafts.

Students in the Interdisciplinary Object Design program have access to the Metalsmithing + Jewelry, Ceramics, and Wood studios, as well as the digital labs for design applications.

Students should meet with their adviser to determine recommended course sequence based on individual needs and course availability. Please contact Professor Jan Baum, at jbaum@towson.edu.
