Painting, Drawing + Printmaking Concentration (BS/BA or BFA)

Screening Requirements


The BFA in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking (PDP) is a screened program. To be eligible to apply, you must have:
2.67 GPA in ART and ARTH courses in the major.
At least 39 units completed in the major (ART and ARTH coursework) to include the following courses:

ART 101,103,104,211,212, and ARTH 221,222 OR the foundations courses under your original catalog.
ART 229 and at least one printmaking course (preferably ART 245)
either ART 372, ART 329, or a second printmaking class.

A complete application consists of:
-A portfolio consisting of 8 pieces completed in painting, drawing, and printmaking classes. It must include at least one drawing, one painting, and one print. Actual work (rather than digital images) is requested.
-An unofficial transcript

Screening will take place twice a year: in the week following the end of fall semester classes (for those who reach 39 units in the major at the end of the fall semester), and in the week following the end of spring semester classes (for those who reach 39 units in the major at the close of the spring semester. Art majors in the Painting, Drawing + Printmaking BFA concentration must complete 81 units, including 21 units in foundations courses, 39 units in required courses, 15 units in the area of focus and 6 units in electives.
