Art Studio Major

Printmaking Track

printmaking faculty and students in the studios

The Printmaking track is housed in the John Blair Mitchell Print Studio in the Center for the Arts. The printmaking facility includes two lithography presses, with beds up to 40 inches wide, and three etching presses, with beds up to 36 inches wide. The studio also features a darkroom for light-sensitive printmaking processes, as well as computers, scanners, and an inkjet printer for student use. An extensive state-of-the-art circulation system ventilates the facility, and a large window-lined wall provides the studio with natural light.  All printmaking students are granted open access to the studio and its resources.

The Printmaking faculty are actively involved in developing the professional experience of their students. The faculty assist students in coordinating internships, where they learn to apply their skills and receive practical experience in a professional environment. In addition, the department actively recruits visiting artists to offer workshops, give critiques, and work in classes and with individual students.

Students should meet with their advisor to determine recommended course sequence based on individual needs and course availability.
