A dissident writer sits at home, terrified that the next knock on the door will be the police, coming to take him to jail for his political writings. Paralyzed with fear, he is visited by friends, lovers and well-wishers each of whom torture him in their own way.

MFA CANDIDATE MAGGIE CLELAND: Lecture/Presentation about The ESL Living Collage Project, Theatre for Immigrants

MFA in Theatre Candidate Maggie Cleland will give a lecture/presentation about The ESL Living Collage Project, an interdisciplinary, collaborative theatre project with adult English as a Second Language (ESL) immigrants at the Arlington Education and Employment Program (REEP) in Virginia. The project, designed to foster community and help students with English and lifeskills, culminated in a theatrical piece based on students’ real-life experiences. Maggie will discuss challenges and highlights as well as share photos and video footage of the process and performance. Admission is Free.
