Each year Towson University sponsors the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Conference. The conference features nationally noted professionals who provide continuing education for students, alumni and area professionals. Past speakers have included Dr. Teri Bellis, Dr. Ken Bleille and Dr. Laura Murray.

Dr. Gregory Lof is an Associate Professor and is the Acting Director in the graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts. His research, teaching and clinical work primarily involves children with articulation and phonological disorders. Recent research and writing have been in the area of the lack of efficacy of using non-speech oral motor exercises (NS-OME) to change speech sound productions. Dr. Lof was the 2004 topic coordinator for phonology for the ASHA Convention and served on the 1995, 1998, 2002 and 2007 ASHA Convention Program Committee for phonology. He is also an editorial consultant for the journals: American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, Contemporary Issues in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools. He has presented workshops at ASHA conventions, at local universities, in school districts, and at numerous state conventions. He is a member of the ASHA National Center for Evidence-Based Practice Committee, formed in 2006. The committee conducted an evidence-based systematic review (EBSR) to determine the state of the evidence surrounding oral motor exercises (OME).
