Audiology Doctoral Program

Clinical Practicum

Students begin audiological clinical experiences in the Towson University Speech, Language and Hearing Center and proceed to off-campus rotations during the 5th semester. Clinical rotations increase in length, beginning with 3-day/week placements and increasing to a 5-day/week externship in the 4th year. Off-campus rotations include over 30 different hospital, private practice, and pediatric/school placements in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. The final year externship is a 48-week, full-time audiology externship designed to meet certification and licensure requirements. The combination of didactic coursework and on-campus and off-campus clinical rotations will prepare students to be autonomous professionals in a variety of work settings.
