You are cordially invited to the third annual Baltimore Immigration Summit: "Building Bridges"

HOW TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL

For your proposal, please include the following:

Title of the session
Name of each participant
Institutional/Organizational Affiliation of each participant
Full contact information for each participant (address, phone number, e-mail address)
Description of the session: In 200-250 words, please describe the panel topic, as well as the make-up of the panel (i.e., how will each participant contribute to the discussion). Topics should focus on some aspect of immigration/immigrants in Baltimore. They should be topics which would be of interest to scholars, activists, practitioners, and/or government workers in attendance at the Summit. Topics which relate in some way to the theme of “Building Bridges” are particularly desired.

Panel discussions will be one hour long, and some of that time should be devoted to discussion. Panels should include two to four participants, allowing for 10 – 20 minute presentations for each participant.

Please submit proposals as Microsoft Word or RTF files to: immigrationsummit@towson.edu, by September 1st , 2006.

Important dates:

September 1, 2006: Due date for proposals
September 18, 2006: Notification of acceptances
October 9, 2006: Deadline for presenters to register
October 30, 2006: General registration deadline
November 17, 2006: 3 rd Annual Baltimore Immigration Summit at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture
