The Towson University TIGER Marching Band is an organization experiencing rapid growth in size, quality, and
reputation! Membership is open to all Towson University students, including non-music majors. Instrumentalists
and color guard students who have previous high school performance experience are welcome. The members of the
band are highly spirited and experience a great degree of camaraderie! The main requirement is a strong desire
to be part of an energized university marching band!
Towson University has made a strong commitment to develop its marching band.
Financial support from the University is creating many exciting changes. For example, ALL participating members
of the TIGER Marching Band receive a $500 stipend for participation in the fall semester. Additional stipends
are also available in the spring semester for Pep Band participation. The TIGER Marching
Band also received new uniforms many new brass and percussion instruments.
A most exciting change came in the 2005 season when Yamaha became the corporate sponsor for the Towson
University TIGER Marching Band. This means that all of Towson's school-owned brass, woodwind, and percussion
instruments are Yamaha instruments. Towson is one of the elite marching ensembles throughout the country that
has this opportunity!
