Volunteers

If you are interested in Volunteering for one or more of the following items please complete our Volunteer Form.

Game Day Cookouts

The past few seasons, a dedicated group of band parents have continued our tradition of preparing a cookout meal before every home football game for the band members. This is an easy commitment for someone who is only able to help on Saturdays. Volunteers arrive an hour before the scheduled cookout time to set up tables and food. Some parents man the grills while others ice down sodas/water and set out the food. If you are interested in helping, please email us at TUMBAlumni@gmail.com.

Game Day Crew

We are looking for a steady group of volunteers to assist with our general game day tasks. This group will be similar to our "roadies" of the past few seasons. The job entails helping move pit equipment onto the field before and after a show, setting up drum major podiums, distributing water and snacks to the band during 3rd quarter, etc. This is a very hands-on job, and your help is extremely vital to the production of our show. If you are interested in dedicating your time to help our field show run smoothly, please contact us at TUMBAlumni@gmail.com.

Flag Sewing

We are excited to have one of the most accomplished university color guards on the East Coast! With that honor comes the need for flags designed for each musical production. Some of you may have experienced this with your student's high school marching band. If you or someone you know has had experience sewing flags, please contact Steve Keiser, our color guard instructor, at stephenkraigkeiser@gmail.com.

Band Trailers and Truck

The band now owns two trailers, a pickup truck and a box truck. If anyone is comfortable enough maneuvering large vehicles, has a CDL licence, and would like to volunteer to drive for our off-campus performances, please contact us at TUMBAlumni@gmail.com.

Band Competition Volunteers

This fall, the TUMB will continue hosting a Bands of America Regional Championship and USSBA Regional Championship in Johnny Unitas Stadium. Each year, over 25 high school marching bands from around the region compete on Towson's campus. We will need parent volunteers to help on the day of the shows, Saturday, October 16, 2010 and Saturday, October 23, 2010. Examples of duties include gate monitors, program sellers, and driving our nifty golf cart around! Please reserve the date and contact us at TUMBAlumni@gmail.com.
