Technical Requirements

To ensure Blackboard functions properly, please be sure to check that your computer meets the following technical requirements. 

Step 1:

To ensure that Blackboard can function properly, please make sure you are using the latest versions of either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

Step 2:

You must have the latest version of Java installed on your machine

It is extremely important to have the latest version of Java installed to ensure that Blackboard functions properly.
 
To update Java on a PC, go to http://www.java.com/en/
To update Java on a Mac, use the Software Update feature in the Apple menu

Step 3:

While these plug-ins are not required for all courses and programs, they are commonly used for many courses, as well as administrative and academic services.
