Course

The Torrey C. Brown Trail (TCB Trail)
Formerly known as the NCR Trail, the TCB Trail spans 20 miles from Maryland to Pennsylvania and is 10 feet wide with a stone dust surface. The rural scenic trail has a hill grade of less than 1% from the start/finish line at Freeland to the turnaround point at Graystone.

Transportation

We will provide two 38-passenger shuttle buses to transport runners from Towson University to race course. Buses will be parked in Lot 11 and will leave for the Torrey C. Brown Trail promptly at 7:00 AM. Shuttles will begin to return to Towson as soon as they are full.

To reserve a spot in our shuttle buses, please email campusrec@towson.edu. Please make sure to put whether you will be taking the shuttles one-way or round-trip in the email. The last day to reserve a space is April 26, 2013.

We recommend parking in the University Union Parking Garage.

Directions & Parking

If you are not taking the shuttle buses, please consider carpooling with other runners or spectators in order to support our green initiative and to minimize the amount of vehicles traveling to the race site.

THERE IS NO RACE DAY PARKING AT THE START/FINISH LINE AT FREELAND. Please park at the Freeland Park & Ride adjacent by the MD-439 Old York Road Park and Ride off I-83 Exit 36. Once the lot at Freeland is full, parking facilitators will direct race traffic to the overflow parking lot. We will be providing parking shuttles to escort runners and spectators to the race site. Directions from Baltimore, MD:
Take I-83 NORTH toward York
Take EXIT 36 toward Maryland Line/Bel Air
Turn Left at MD-439 E/Old York Road
Park and Ride is AHEAD

Directions from York, PA:
Take I-83 SOUTH toward Baltimore
Take EXIT 36 toward Maryland Line/Bel Air
Turn Right at MD-439 E/Old York Road
Park and Ride is AHEAD

Spectators

Parking is limited. Spectators should arrive by 9:00 a.m to park in the various overflow parking lots. Shuttles will run between parking lots and race village from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Spectator shuttles will depart from overflow parking lots at 9:40 a.m. and 10 a.m. and will return at 10:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m.

Gear Check

It is advisable for participants to leave belongings in their vehicles or with a friend or family member who is not running. All participants may check their gear at the secure Gear Check tent, located at the Start/Finish Area in Freeland.

Check-In

  • Participants who registered online through RunningMaryland.com can pick up their race number, t-shirt and goodie bag on race day at the Check-In tables
  • You must show a photo I.D. to pick up your race number, t-shirt and goodie bag. Family and friends are not permitted to pick up your race materials. No exceptions!
  • Towson student, faculty, or staff participants must present their TU OneCard. Alumni must present their Alumni Card.
  • Race materials will not be mailed.

Timing

This is a Jaguar Chip Timing race provided by Running Maryland. The timing chip will be attached to your race number. By wearing your chip you will be provided a net time from the time you cross the start line until the time you cross the finish line.

Timing, Race Scoring & Results

Timing and scoring of the race will be administered through Running Maryland. Total results will be posted the day after the race.

Packet and Chip Pick-Up

Early race packet and timing chip-pick up are available in the main lobby of Burdick Hall on the following dates and times:

Thursday, May 2, 2013 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Friday, May 3, 2013 3:00-5:00 p.m.

You must show a photo I.D. to pick up your race packet and timing chip. If you are a Towson affiliate, please present your TU OneCard or Alumni Card.
