Outdoor Trips

Join Adventure Pursuits on our outdoor trips this fall! All students, staff, and faculty are welcome. Trips are carefully planned, scouted and led by trained, experienced outdoor trip leaders. Transportation and equipment are provided with all of our trips. Meals are provided with some trips. No experience is necessary, just curiosity and love of adventure!

Refund Policy
Refunds are only given if Adventure Pursuits cancels a trip due to weather, lack of participation or other factors. Refunds will not be given for participant cancellations.

Participant Policy
Only current Towson students, faculty, and staff with a valid TU OneCard are eligible to participate in Adventure Pursuits trips.

These trips are designed to teach basic outdoor skills and help individuals appreciate our natural environment.

Disc Golf/Hiking
Description: Play a round of Disc Golf with Adventure Pursuits. It's a relaxing outdoor activity that is a hybrid between golf and frisbee. Learn a new sport and then end the day with some low key hiking. Equipment and transportation will be provided.
Level: Beginner
Prerequisite: No experience necessary.
Date: Saturday, October 19

Top-Rope Climbing at Sugarloaf
Description: Step outside of the boundaries of indoor climbing and join us at Sugarloaf Mountain for a great day of outdoor top-roping. Equipment and transportation will be provided.
Levels: Beginner, Intermediate
Prerequisite: Prior belay certification is recommended, but not required.
Date: Sunday, October 20

Kayaking the Gunpowder Gorge
Description: Learn the basics of whitewater kayaking including skills such as basic paddle strokes, posture and movement in a kayak, and basic river running techniques. Paddle alongside skilled guides on a local gem.
Levels: Beginner, Intermediate
Prerequisite: Must pass a swim test, attend two kayaking clinics before the trip and be approved by our kayak instructor. Click here for more clinic information.

Canoeing on Loch Raven
Description: Enjoy a summer afternoon canoeing on a local gem. Learn how to paddle in traditional canoes and enjoy all the beautiful scenery, peaceful waters, and wildlife Loch Raven has to offer. All gear and transportation provided.
Level: Beginner
Prerequisite: Must be proficient in swimming.
Date: Saturday, October 26
