CPR/AED & First Aid Courses

Course Description

The American Red Cross course provides training for individuals to respond effectively in emergency situations. In CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED, you will learn to recognize and provide care for respiratory and cardiac emergencies. You will learn how to correctly use an Automated External Defibrillator to aid in cardiac emergencies. The First Aid course will prepare the participant to: control severe bleeding, care for shock, soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries, sudden illness, and heat/cold related emergencies. There will be videos, demonstrations, as well as hands on experience. You must be on time to participate in this class. Upon successful completion the participant will receive American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications which are valid for two years. PDF copies of certifications will be emailed to participants within one month of course completion.

Event Fee

$40 for current TU Campus Recreation Services employees. $70 for all other TU students, faculty, and staff. Non-refundable if participant does not demonstrate skill competency, fails written test or cannot attend entire course. If instructor cancels class due to low registration numbers or unforeseen circumstances, full refunds will be given to registered participants. Refunds, minus a $15 processing fee, will be given to registered participants if they are unable to make the course and request a refund 48 hours in advance. No refunds will be granted without 48 hours' notice.
