The Career Center
3 Ways to Search for a Job!
FIRST Search for a job on our website.
- Go to
http://www.towson.edu/careercenter and
under “Hire@TU” click on “Students Click
Here”. Then click on the "Click here to
register" link to create an account.
- Complete all information paying close
attention to "Applicant Type.” If you have
work study you should select "Part
Time—Federal Work Study.” If not you should
select "Part Time—Regular Student
Employment" as your type.
IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE CREATING AN ACCOUNT, PLEASE CALL
410.704.2233 DURING BUSINESS HOURS FOR ASSISTANCE.
- Select "Jobs" from the menu
bar on the top, and then just click "Search"
on the job search screen. This will allow
you to see all the jobs that match your
applicant type.
- Follow the instructions to apply for
each job.
SECOND On August 29th we will be hosting an On Campus
Employment Virtual Career Fair. The following steps will
only work on August 28th – 31st.
- Log into your Hire@TU account (see
above) and upload either a resume or an
application by clicking on "My Account,”
then "My Documents" and following the
instructions to upload a document.
(Application is available online here:
http://www.towson.edu/careercenter/student/Application.doc).
- After your document is uploaded, click
on "Career Events" and then click on
“Search” and then select "Virtual On Campus
Job Fair.”
- Click on "View Employers" (PLEASE NOTE:
these are all on campus employers) and then,
on the search screen, just click "Search"
without limiting the search. This will show
you all the attending employers.
- Click on any employer you think is
interesting to see what positions they have
to offer. Please read carefully to make sure
you are eligible for the job. (For example,
if the positions say "work study" and you
don’t have work study then you shouldn’t
apply.)
- If you decide to apply for the position
you can select the "Drop Resume" option on
the employer profile screen. By selecting
this you can apply directly to that
employer. Once you drop a resume, the option
will disappear for that employer, but if you
want, you can apply to every employer!
THIRD On September 18th from 11-3 in the Potomac Lounge
there will be a Part Time Job Fair. Both on and off campus
employers will be participating.
