The College of Business and Economics, like many institutions today, faces a wide range of challenges including economic pressures, changing expectations of target student populations, market demands for students and skill sets and competitive pressures.
The college's Strategic Plan for 2010-2016 is designed to proactively approach these factors while outlining goals and priorities for continual improvement and growth. We believe we have a solid foundation for the future with a refined vision for 2010-2016.
The college prepared its first Strategic Plan in 2008, defining three strategic priorities and 12 goals for the next three years, through 2010.
Many changes occurred after 2008, including the release of the Towson University Strategic Academic Plan 2010-2016 (TU Academic Plan).
While the College of Business and Economics Strategic Plan for 2008-2010 was very consistent with the TU Academic Plan, the univeristy's plan raised the bar in terms of our vision and our expectations and important changes needed to be made.
The TU Academic Plan thus motivated the College of Business and Economics to re-evaluate its overall strategy and the associated critical success factors that needed to be in place to achieve the college’s long-term vision.
