What do you love most about your job as the Managing Director of Credit Research for Goldman Sachs?
"The best thing about my job is that it's entirely dependent on the markets and changes every single day—making it a dynamic work place. In addition, I had the chance to work in two amazing cities, New York and London, with some of the brightest and most motivated people in the world."

Can you describe a typical day on the job?
"We start early (6:30/6:45 a.m.) and the mornings are generally pretty intense, especially during earnings season (quarterly reporting for the major companies in my coverage universe). However, the afternoons are usually a bit slower, which provides plenty of time to think about the bigger picture issues affecting the telecom and media companies."

You had the opportunity to work overseas. What did you gain from that experience?
"I developed a better understanding of the world by working in a much more diverse workplace, surrounded by people from numerous countries in Europe, Africa, as well as the UK. The experience helped me become a better listener, manager and open to alternative ideas/opinions."

What knowledge and/or skills did you acquire at Towson that have helped you in the work place?
"My communication skills were enhanced greatly through the classroom, extracurricular activities, such as rugby and frequent visits to Café Med/Gators, and from my daily dialogue with my Alpha Chi Rho fraternity brothers."

Why did you decide to choose finance as your concentration at Towson?
"I always had a knack for higher math and problem solving, so finance seemed like a natural fit for my particular skill set."

Do you have any advice for students seeking to find a job the finance industry?
"Take advantage of any networking opportunity, whether its with a family friend, relative, alumni or new contact. And, be sure to be professional—follow up periodically and make sure to thank a person for his/her time and advice."
