As the foundation course of the Business Excellence program, Business Cornerstone (BUSX 301) focuses on developing your knowledge, skills and attitudes. You will be given projects to strengthen your writing, critical thinking, problem-solving, team work, and career exploration skills. You’ll also learn how to realistically assess your strengths and weaknesses and create a plan for improvement.
Most assignments involve team work— faculty members offer different approaches to help you learn what it takes be successful in a diverse team. In this course, you will also develop writing and oral communication skills that will be valuable in future courses and careers.
As one of the first writing intensive courses within the CBE curriculum, Business Cornerstone teaches different modes of business communication. You’ll also be introduced to a wide range of college and university resources that will help you develop and sharpen your writing.
