Finding an Internship

In today's competitive job market, completing an internship as an undergraduate is vital to jump starting your career upon graduation. Interning not only provides you with valuable hands-on professional skills, but gives your resume an edge and can even lead to full-time employment and other opportunities.

Understanding the importance of these invaluable experiences for students, the College of Business and Economics offers a one-of-a-kind internship program. In the Professional Experience course, students majoring in business administration, accounting and e-business complete a 120-hour internship in a professional office setting while concurrently enrolled in a course where they reflect on and share their experiences with fellow classmates. Students also have the option to receive credit from their respective departments for internships.

Resources for Students

When searching for an internship, it is important to start the process early by submitting your application to several openings. Don’t apply to just one internship. Be proactive! Take advantage of the numerous university and college resources available to assist you in your search. When seeking a position for the Professional Experience course, keep in mind the internship requirements.

Career Center
Students should also use the Career Center as a resource. Students can meet with Career Center counselors or use the Hire@TU database to find internships.

Career Insider
The Career Insider is an online resource which provides access to full-text industry guides, employer profiles and reviews, sample resumes, career videos and much more.

Career e-Newsletter
