Josh Noren and Meredith Walter, both e-Business majors in
the College of Business and Economics, were awarded the Mid-Atlantic CIO
Forum Scholarship this month. The Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum provides scholarships each year to
full-time sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate Towson University students studying
computer science, computer information systems, information technology, business administration,
e-Business or economics who have a 3.6 GPA or higher.
Josh Noren is a junior e-Business and Computer Information Systems major. He is also a 3-time
recipient of this award. Meredith Walter is a Sophomore majoring in e-Business and Business Administration
with a track in Project Management and Business Analysis. Congratulations to Josh and Meredith!

John Steele, a student athlete and a Business Administration major with a track in
Project Management and Business Analysis, presented his research at CBE D&R Conference on May 4, 2012.
Titled "Forecasting Sports Attendance - Using Towson Football and Basketball Games", this research was
developed as part of an independent study class (EBTM495) under the guidance of Dr. Chaodong Han. An attendance
forecasting model was developed based on historical data of Towson games and was further
validated using most recent data. John's research received strong commendation and positive
feedback from CBE faculty across the Economics, Management and EBTM departments.

Students in the MS in Supply Chain Management program, under the
guidance of Dr. Dong Yao, participated in the LINKS Simulation
from the 28th November to 4th December
and were ranked FIRST out of 240 schools globally that participated in this simulation
based on the Key Performance Indicator (KPI)of Forecasting Accuracy. Further Information at the

Students in the MS in Supply Chain Management program, under the

from the 17th to 23rd of October
and were ranked in the Top 10 out of 240 schools globally that participated in this simulation
based on the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of change in net income to revenue. Further Information at the

Two students, Sarah Amos and Nicole Bernadzikowski, are the first
recipients of the
Student Certificate in Project Management (SCiPM) This certificate is jointly
awarded by Towson University and the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (asapm)®.

Tobin Porterfield, e-Business and Technology Management
Porterfield's article, "B2B eCommerce: An empirical investigation of information
exchange and firm performance," published in International Journal of Physical
Distribution & Logistics Management, has been chosen as an Outstanding
Paper Award Winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2011.
