Combined Major in Electronic Business and Information Systems
The combined major in Electronic Business and Information
Systems (formerly called Computer Information Systems)
requires a minimum of 136 units to be earned with a grade equivalent
of 2.00 or higher. The program consists of 18 units of lower-level
required courses, 6 or 7 units of required mathematics, 18 units of upper-level
BUAD required courses, 15 units of e-Business courses, and 32 units of
Information Systems requirements as well as the Towson University
Core Curriculum.

 | Admission to the Combined Major in Electronic Business and Information Systems |
Students are admitted to the combined major in Electronic Business and
Information Systems on a competitive basis after first being
admitted to the university. Admission to the university does not guarantee
admission to this combined major. Each term the CBE Office of Student Academic Services considers
applications for admission to the major for the following term. In order to be admitted to the major, students
must satisfy specific screening requirements and complete an application
form for admission. To be eligible for admission to the combined major, students must meet the following screening requirements: complete each of the six lower-level courses with a grade equivalent of 2.00 or higher, a minimum average GPA of 2.7 for ALL six lower-level courses, and pass the CBE Computer Proficiency Exam.
Degree candidates intending to pursue the
combined major in Electronic Business and Information
Systems are designated as "pre-e-Business" (PEBU) until admitted into the
major. Students are encouraged to meet each term with their assigned faculty
adviser to evaluate their progress in completing the requirements for
admission to the e-Business major and the degree.

Candidates for the combined major in e-Business and
Information Systems must satisfy the requirements for the
e-Business major.

Students who meet the admission requirements at the end of the term must complete
an Application for Admission to the e-Business major before registering for upper-level
"majors-only" CBE courses (BUSX, EBTM, ECON, FIN, LEGL, MKTG,
and MNGT). The form is available by clicking
on the link below or in the CBE Student Academic Services (SAS) Office in ST 301.
