John K. Tolmie

John K. Tolmie is the president and CEO of St. Joseph Medical Center. Mr. Tolmie is the first leader representing the healthcare industry in the four-year history of the competition.
Under Mr. Tolmie’s leadership, St. Joseph Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Initiatives, is a 364-bed acute care facility with more than 1,000 medical staff and $350 million in net revenues, has formed a partnership with St. Agnes Health, developed Physician Enterprise Corporation to operate and grow physician strategy and launched a Cancer Institute, among more. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association, Catholic Health Association of the U.S., Maryland Hospital Association, Upper Chesapeake Health System Board, Stella Maris Advisory Board, Greater Baltimore Committee President’s Advisory Council and the College of Notre Dame of Maryland Board.
He holds a master's in health administration and an MBA from Georgia State University as well as a bachelor's in business administration from Virginia Tech.

Jonathan P. Murray

Jonathan P. Murray is a senior vice president of investments and a wealth management specialist for UBS in Hunt Valley, MD. From 1994 to 2006, he worked for Legg Mason in Baltimore. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Murray worked for Kidder, Peabody, and Co., the New York Investment Banking firm. Prior to his investment career, he worked in higher education as the Assistant Dean of Admissions at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Mr. Murray currently manages over $300 million of clients’ retirement assets and works closely with affluent families to help them achieve their financial goals through trusted, caring advice.
In addition to serving as a daily financial analyst on WBAL Radio in Baltimore, he is a contributor with his twin brother David on The Today Show and CNBC’s Morning Call, where they discuss current economic conditions, investment themes, and wealth management strategies. Their book, Two For the Money: A Guide for Balancing Retirement, Kids, and Aging Parents, was released in May, 2006 (Avalon Publishing Group). Mr. Murray is frequently quoted in The N.Y.Times, The Baltimore Sun and The Baltimore Business Journal. He is a lecturer for the Loyola College MBA program, the University of Maryland, and for The Johns Hopkins University.
Mr. Murray graduated from Dickinson College in 1984 with a B.A. in English. He was elected as a trustee there, and served as chairman of the Finance, Budget and Audit Committee, chairman of the Investment Committee, and vice chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee. Mr. Murray and his wife live in the Pinehurst community of Baltimore with their two sons.

Born November 15, 1946 in Baltimore, Mr. Bramble graduated
from Calvert Hall College High School in 1966. He attended Towson University (formerly known as Towson State College), where he played on the school’s basketball team. He served two years in the United States Air Force (Strategic Air Command) as a medic. He has held high ranking positions including controller of Maryland National Bank; president & CEO of Virginia Federal Savings Bank; president, CEO and director of MNC Financial; president and CEO of First National Bank; vice chairman of MBNA America, among more.
Currently, Mr. Bramble is a member of Bank of America’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bramble has extensive board experience with additional organizations including Baltimore City Life Museums; Calvert Hall College High School; Constellation Energy Group; Downtown Partnership (former chair); Greater Baltimore Committee (former chair); Hippodrome Foundation (formerly Baltimore Center for the Performing Arts); Loyola College of Maryland; Mayor Schmoke’s Economic Advisory Council; Playing for Peace; and, University of Maryland Medical Center (former chair).

Edwin F. Hale, Sr.
Edwin F. Hale, Sr. is currently:
Chairman and chief executive officer of 1st Mariner Bancorp
- Real estate developer of numerous properties including Canton Crossing, a $500 million project
- Owner of the back-to-back MISL Champs Baltimore Blast Professional Indoor Soccer Team
- Former chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Baltimore Bancorp
- Chairman and founder of Maryland Business Council
Mr. Hale has been honored as:
- "Entrepreneur of the Year" for 1996
- Baltimore Business Journal’s "Businessman of the Year"
- and is the recipient of numerous charitable awards
Born November 15, 1946 in Highlandtown, Mr. Hale graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1964. He attended Essex Community College in Baltimore, Md., and the American International College in Springfield, Ma. He served two years in the United States Air Force (Strategic Air Command) as a medic.
He has one son, Edwin Jr., in the transportation field and two daughters, Ashley and Alexandra, still attending school and three grandsons. Mr. Hale currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
