In an effort to emphasize the importance of financial literacy the United States has officially declared April as National Financial Literacy Month. The month serves as an opportunity to inform and empower Americans to establish and maintain healthy financial habits.

To kick-off the month the Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting the first annual FinanceFest. Co-sponsored by the College of Business and Economics, Maryland Coalition for Financial Literacy, and TU's Financial Services Department, the event walks participants through tax preparation, credit report checks, and other useful budgeting information.

This event is open to all TU students, faculty, parents, and community members.
