Social Networking Know-How

As business students, we must understand the practical application of social networking websites, such as Facebook and MySpace. Many of us are avid users of one of these sites but it is important to recognize the effect they may have once you enter the business community. Most employers perform background checks on potential applicants; this can include a Facebook or MySpace review. Many students chronicle their nightlife with photos that may give the wrong impression. Familiarize yourself with the privacy settings of these sites. You have the ability to let certain people see certain things. It is important to recognize the implication of these sites and to review the privacy settings they offer.
