Forensic Chemistry (BS)
The Towson University Forensic Chemistry program is housed in the Department of Chemistry of the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. As such, the Forensic Science program has the support of and benefits from the wide variety talents of faculty members of the College. The curriculum includes coursework in chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology and social science. This allows the student to prepare for a career in forensic science or to continue their education at the graduate level in a number of scientific disciplines, including forensic science, medicine, dentistry or pharmacy. The program is rich with laboratory experience both on campus and through internships in Forensic Laboratories. The Forensic Chemistry Program focuses on comparative analysis of evidence, as well as the traditional qualitative and quantitative analytical aspects of chemistry, in order to assist in the investigation of crimes, environmental issues and unsafe working conditions.
