| Research | One area of research in my group is the molecular dynamics simulations of enzyme catalytic reactions. Results from mechanistic study will provide detailed information about protein dynamics and conformational change during catalysis, which will be useful for rational inhibitor design. Another area of research is the virtual screening of small molecule databases to discover small molecules that can bind tightly to the active site or allosteric sites of an enzyme, tightly bound molecules will then be used as lead compounds to design novel inhibitors. The third area is the study of solvent effects on the tautomeric equilibria of organic compounds that are of pharmacological interest. |
