Assistant Professor, Analytical Chemistry

Applicants are invited for a tenure-track position starting Fall 2010. Ph.D. in analytical chemistry required; post-doctoral experience desirable. Ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs in environmental chemistry and/or forensic chemistry advantageous. Applicants should possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduate students and to pursue external funding. Primary teaching responsibility in analytical chemistry.

The Chemistry Department is ACS accredited. It enrolls about 320 undergraduates in Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Chemistry Secondary Education and 40 graduate students in the Masters in Forensic Science. It supports the undergraduate and graduate Environmental Science and undergraduate Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics programs.
