Students choose one of six tracks.
All courses and each student’s program of study must be
approved by an Allied Health Advisor.
Below are descriptions
and representative courses for each track. Other course
selections are possible, subject to the approval of the
program director.
Students will be required to take a Capstone
Course (AHLT 4XX) at/near the end of their Towson
studies. This course is required for each student
among the 18 units of the Track.
Students are also required to take an ethics class
in their track.
Students are able to pursue a minor in a number of
different areas along with the Allied health major by selecting specific tracks. (Minors in Health Care
Management and Family Studies are examples.)
Note:
students may have additional units to complete
beyond the 18 track units in order to earn the
minor. Students may also select the Science and
Professional Preparation track if planning to
continue on to graduate school, and select courses
within the track that help satisfy their graduate
program
Note: Students in any Track may also complete
credits as an Allied Health Independent Study.

Students may choose from a broad array of courses in
the fields of healthcare management, accounting,
management, marketing, finance, and related areas.
This track may be taken completely online.
Note: Some courses may be counted as either a Core
course or a Track course, but not both.

For the respiratory care practitioner, these courses
offer advanced clinical
competencies, as well as the opportunity to pursue
individual practica in clinical practice, education,
administration or research. This track can be taken
completely online.
