Healthcare professionals and students with a health science background can broaden their knowledge, learn new skills, and prepare to make significant contributions to their communities with a master’s in health science. A program track is open for students without health-related undergraduate degrees.

Choose Your Specialty

Tailor the program to fit your academic needs and professional goals.  Choose your specialization and pursue one of the following concentrations:

  • Administration graduates often work in government, community and school settings.
  • Community health graduates prepare community health careers in the public and private sectors.
  • School health education graduates find employment as teachers, program supervisors, health education media specialists and program evaluation specialists in addition to positions in continuing education and school personnel.
  • Dual concentration students take required coursework in any two of the above concentrations.

A Flexible Format

Designed for the working professional, the program offers a wide variety of evening classes, and part-time students can complete coursework at their own pace. If you want to pursue the program’s thesis option, you can complete a research project in your area of concentration. Non-thesis students can take additional coursework. Students should review the Health Science Graduate Handbook (PDF). Plan your schedule in advance with the Department of Health Science Projected Schedule of Graduate Courses (PDF). To ensure you stay on track and on target, you must have a signed Program of Study (PDF) form on file with the graduate program director. Please also view important admission and degree requirements in the Graduate Catalog.
