A letter to the Towerlight: First Amendment Controversy Keeps Professors Quiet
Jack Fruchtman

So, this semester I am teaching an upper-division Political Science course that spends half the term concentrating on the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: free speech, free press, free expression, and so on.
The dismissal of Mr. Zaruba raises a fascinating problem in First Amendment law, but I suspect I’d better not discuss it in class, wimp that I am, for fear of using the very word that led to his abrupt discharge from the University.
