Dr. Kenton received his Ph.D. in Education (Curriculum and Instructional Technology) from Iowa State University in 2002. He joined the faculty of the then-Reading, Special Education and Instructional Technology (RSET) Department in August 2002.
Since 2009, he has served as the Assistant Dean in the College of Education, coordinating preparations for the 2014 joint MSDE/NCATE Accreditation visit. This work involves collecting, managing and distributing information for use in various institutional, state and federal reports. He coordinates the College of Education's Graduate Programs and serves as the College's liaison in many technological matters, including supervising the College's Education Innovations lab, and the College's Web Information Architect.
His research interests include: Assessment and Accreditation; Instructional technology integration (especially using interactive technologies); Metacognition and self-directed learning, and; Information literacy and information fluency.
