Dr. Ellen Ballock is an Assistant Professor in the Elementary Education Department where she coordinates the department's participation in the national pilot of the Teacher Performance Assessment. She earned her doctorate at The Pennsylvania State University after teaching second grade for four years both in the U.S. and abroad. Collaboration, teacher inquiry, and teacher noticing are three ideas that run through her research. She is particularly interested in how collaborative analysis of classroom artifacts (student work, lesson plans, videos of teaching) support teacher professional development.
