Dr. Xiaoming Liu is Assistant Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Towson University. She received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language and Literacy from Texas Tech University. She teaches reading courses in the ELED-MAT program. Her research interests include: children’s literature, authentic literacy assessment, and young children’s biliteracy development. She is particularly interested in working with children of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds and struggling readers. She is co-chair (2009-2012) of the International Community Group of Literacy Research Association.
