Catherine Hearn earned a B.A. in Elementary Education
and Special Education from the College of Notre Dame and
taught middle school language arts and the third grade
for several years. After earning a master in
Professional Writing and another in Liberal Studies at
Towson University, she began teaching writing at Towson
University, Stevenson College, and the College of Notre
Dame. During graduate school, she developed a love of
creative nonfiction and has been fortunate enough to
have had some of her essays published. She has been the
co-director of the Maryland Writing Project for 3 years
where she has loved working with teachers and
undergraduate Education majors.
