Public Accountability Measures - Third Year Graduate Survey

Classes of 2006 - 2011

Each year, the Professional Education Unit at Towson University surveys the members of its 1st year and 3rd year graduating classes to help determine how well the preparation they received at Towson University has served them in their classroom careers. These surveys use the Interstate Teachers Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) Standards to provide a common frame of reference for teacher preparation, regardless of content preparation.

The completers are asked to rate their level of agreement with the phrase “My teacher education program prepared me with the opportunity to learn how to / demonstrate that I am able to…” for each of the ten InTASC Standards. The survey uses a five point scale of agreement, where 5 = strongly agree, 3 = neither Agree nor Disagree, and 1 = Strongly Disagree.

While reviewing the table below, please note that the InTASC Standards first took effect during the 2011-2012 Data year, and this set of standards replaced the INTASC Principles. Thus, we have two sets of tables, one reflecting the Principles, and the other reflecting the Standards. All future surveys will use the InTASC Standards as their point of comparison.
