Dr. Hartzler-Miller is Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Education in Secondary Education Program at Towson University.  She taught high school history, geography and government for six years and has coordinated Professional Development School partnerships for eleven years.  She received her doctorate from Michigan State University.  Her areas of specialization are history/social studies instruction and curriculum and urban education.  Dr. Hartzler-Miller lives in a working-class neighborhood in Baltimore City with her husband Greg, a baker and writer.  She enjoys gardening, reading, watching movies, taking walks in the woods, and working with her neighbors on community projects.

Ms. Belloto is the new Graduate Assistant of the Secondary Education Master's Program.  She is an international student, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and she has been in the United States for one year.  Michelle holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in International Business from Parana State University (Brazil).  Currently, she is studying to earn her Master's Degree in Human Resource Development. Ms. Belloto enjoys learning about different cultures and languages.  She intends to travel around the world studying different countries, making new friends and enjoying different experiences.
