CHECKLIST OF DEGREE REQUIREMENTS FOR ECSE STUDENTS MATRICULATING ON OR AFTER AUGUST 31, 2011
The Integrated Early Childhood - Special Education (ECSE) Program is a screened major. All candidates must meet the following screening requirements:
1. Passing Scores on PRAXIS I, SAT, or ACT at or above the level of
standards established by MSDE
2. A minimum of 2.75 on all prerequisite coursework required for the major
3. The required speech and hearing screening
4. Criminal History Disclosure Statement
5. Submission of a writing sample.
Students are responsible for ensuring that they meet the prerequisite content and core curriculum requirements for the University. Transcripts will be evaluated for completion of required courses.* The program is offered at Towson University (TU), and equals a minimum of 130 semester units of college credit. A minimum GPA of 3.0 in the major is required prior to student teaching.

To enter the program, students must: take speech and hearing screening; submit Criminal Disclosure statement;
have a GPA of 2.75 or higher; completed ENGL 102 with a grade of 2.0 or
higher; have completed 60 or more units; have scores on the Praxis I, SAT, or ACT at or above the level of standards established by MSDE; and submit a writing sample.
