Campus Visits

High school students in the Teacher Academy of Maryland program participate in a college class at TU.
High school students from TAM participate  in a class with college students at Towson University.

Towson University offers several opportunities for Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) students to learn about college life. TAM students can explore for themselves whether TU is the right place to become an educator through virtual tours, open houses and campus tours.

A Day in a Life of a College Student

Occasionally, opportunities become available for students from selected schools to participate in a special campus visit. Thanks to the TU marketing division and Pepsi, TAM was able to provide a bonus activity to students from schools in three different local school systems in the fall and spring of 2008. The activity, called “A Day in a Life” was a campus experience that allowed TAM students to attend a TU course (ELED 201: Schools and American Society), tour the campus alongside a TU College of Education student, participate in a question and answer session, and receive a certificate of completion for their program portfolio.
