Book orders:

The Administrative Assistants will send you a book order form to be completed and to be returned promptly.  Please provide book title, author, publisher, edition, ISBN number, etc. as requested.

Course syllabi:

Please include a copy of your course syllabus with your contract as requested.  We’ll need a copy of your syllabus for each semester you teach with TLN.

Audio/visual equipment:

All adjuncts teaching off campus should call the school where you are teaching about one week before the first class to confirm the location of your class and discuss your technology needs.

Student course evaluations:

Course evaluations will be mailed to you.  There should be no hint of impropriety regarding the handling of course evaluations. You must ask for a volunteer or designate a student to distribute and collect evaluations.  The student should be the last one out of the room and should return these forms in the self-addressed, stamped envelope provided being sure to sign his/her name across the seal.  The student should notify you that evaluations have been mailed. Under no circumstances should you be present in the classroom while evaluations are completed by students.

Class and grade rosters:

All class and grade rosters are available online.  Therefore, it is essential that you obtain a Towson email account as soon as possible to have access to your class and grade rosters.

To access your class rosters and to complete the on-line grade roster you must have a Towson email account.  A Computer Account Request Form will be included with your contract also.  Please complete and return with your contract.  Once an account is established and you forget your user name and password, please contact OTS (TU’s Office of Technology Services) at 410-704-5151

Important note: Please contact the Administrative Assistants immediately if a student listed on your class roster either does not attend class or stops attending class.   Thank you.

Assigning grades:

Please note: University policy states that you may not assign plus or minus grades for graduate courses.  Once the course is completed, grade rosters must be completed within 72 hours.  Additionally, you have up to 15 days to change a grade.  It is important to also email Sarah sdelaney@towson.edu, Kippi ksutphen@towson.edu) or Mary Ann merdman@towson.edu the change of grade as it will affect invoicing.

Inclement Weather:

When public schools are closed for the day or close early, classes sponsored by the school system where the courses are held are cancelled. If Towson University cancels classes, but the school system in which you are teaching does not cancel evening activities, then the class should be conducted as scheduled.

Parking:

To obtain information or a parking permit, please visit the website at http://parking.towson.edu, call Parking Services at 410-704-3514, or stop by the Parking Services Office outside the lower level of the Union , just inside the garage.  They are open several evenings a week until 7pm; however, please call to confirm times.

ONE Cards:

A TU faculty identification card is needed to use Cook Library services.  The form to obtain a ONE Card is included with your contract.   Once we receive the completed form, we will send it to Auxiliary Services.   Since you are teaching off campus, your ONE card will not require a picture.  If you have any questions concerning the ONE card, please contact Mary Pat Pfeifer 410-704-2284 or mpfeifer@towson.edu.

Fact Sheets:

Please advise your students that it is very important for them to carefully read the Fact Sheets sent to them via email or snail mail when they complete the registration process.

Billing Questions

Please do not attempt to help students with billing questions.  They should contact Sarah Delaney, Mary Ann Erdman, or Kippi Sutphen for assistance.

Withdrawals:

Withdrawals must be completed before the third class meeting.  Students are not allowed to drop themselves from a TLN course.  Direct students to call or email Sarah Delaney , Mary Ann Erdman, or Kippi Sutphen for assistance with this process.  Information about this process is clearly outlined on the Fact Sheet.  Students who do not officially withdraw before the third class meeting will be responsible for paying tuition and the closed contract fee.

Class Rosters:

It is very important that you fax (410-704-4250) or email Sarah Delaney, Mary Ann Erdman, or Kippi Sutphen your updated class roster by the end of the second class meeting.  We have no way of knowing whom to assist with the withdrawal process, unless you provide updated rosters.
