About the College

Mission

The College of Fine Arts and Communication provides a challenging and responsive environment to support creative/scholarly exploration with an emphasis on excellence, integrity and personal expression. Our multi-dimensional education is student-centered and dynamic. The educational journey results in graduates who are professionally oriented and prepared to pursue future careers.

The College of Fine Arts and Communication aspires to:

  • Provide professionally oriented education in the arts and communication for students passionate about creative and academic excellence.

  • Nurture faculty and staff who are dedicated to excellent teaching.

  • Foster a community willing to take risks while pursuing its artistic and scholarly ambitions.

  • Offer the university and greater Baltimore community educational opportunities, performances and exhibitions that inform, challenge and entertain.

The faculty, staff and students who comprise the College of Fine Arts and Communication community seek to engage the future by fostering interdisciplinary work, welcoming diversity in people and ideas, building collaborations with our community and continually challenging boundaries.
