Faculty and students in the College of Fine Arts & Communication engage in various forms of academic scholarship, ranging from creative activity to applied and primary research. The processes and outcomes of scholarship are introduced to students as topics of discussion, for additional review and inspection, or as models for implementation. In addition to hearing about faculty scholarship, undergraduate and graduate students are often invited to participate in faculty projects, as well as encouraged to pursue their own ideas and passions.
The COFAC Colloquium provides faculty and professional staff an opportunity to share the results of their scholarship with their colleagues in the college. The Colloquium was created in response to the desire of faculty to engage in intellectual and interdisciplinary discourse across the college. The college hosts two to four Colloquia per academic year.
