Minutes from General Meeting, Tuesday, March 13, 2007


Location: Chesapeake II
The meeting started at 5pm.
12 people attended
The entire executive board was present.
Our advisor was present

President, Brian Ward, made the following announcements:
-Canvassing for Health Care for All: Last weekend with just 4 people
we got 24 people to call Senator Kasemeyer
- We need people to help Canvass! The session ending on April 9. We
will have a Lit drop Wednesday, March 21st
and we will canvass March 25th 12-4
- QSU is showing the movie Homotopia on March 26 at 7 in Lith 100
-Earth Week is April 23-27- Organization in the Towson Progressive
Alliance will have events the entire week
- There will be no debate this semester
-We will be co-sponsoring Rev. Yearwood, an environmental and
progressive activist, with the Towson Energy Activists
- There will be an Anti-War Protest March 17 at the Pentagon. Meet at
Towson at 10.
-Like the Fair Trade Committee, the SGA is forming g a clean energy
and recycling committee. Lauren is there representative for Dems.

Vice President, Paul Day, made the following announcements:
-Adopt- a- Campus is at 3pm March 14th. We will meet in second floor
of the Union.

Treasurer, Brian Burzynki, made the following announcements:
-We made $100 at the bake sale last week.
- The next bake sale is April 3

Director of Media Relations, Sean Lawlor, made the following
announcements:
-Turn in Towson Progressive articles over spring break.

Director of Events, Lauren McDade, made the following announcements:
-We will be showing the Ground Truth tonight at 7:30 pm in Lith 200
-We will be taking a trip to Annapolis on Saturday, March 31

Director Campaigns, Matt Bohle, made the following announcements:
-The Unity Party is Monday, March 26; we are leaving at 3:15 from the
Union. Dress in formally and professionally.

Director of Political Organizing, Alicia Schuller, made the following
announcements:
-Tabling is Thursday, 10-4
-There will be a forum on the subject of illegal immigrants getting in-
state tuition Thursday 12:30-1:30 in the Potomac Lounge.
- For our discussion we talked about the Annapolis bill/ giving
illegal immigrants who are in-state residents and graduates of
Maryland
High schools to be given in-state tuition
       -This led discussions of financial aid, immigration policy and the
failures of that policy, and international trade policy.

The meeting was adjourned at 6pm. The next meeting is scheduled for
March 27, 2007.
