Minutes from General Meeting, Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Location: Chesapeake II   
Began: 5:00 pm
All 8 E-board members were present
9 people attended

President, Brian Ward, announced:
-SGA elections April 17th and 18th, next Tuesday and Wednesday: 2 parties Student Voice and iSGA party
-Bill Logan, running for Treasurer, talked to the group
-Be more vocal about student needs, publicize the budget, expand Safe Ride, eliminate the C-, Commuter Student Organization, keeping Tiger Reels real, qualified group with a lot of experience
-Thanks to everyone who came to Mike Tidwell
-New York Times article discussion. FREE PIZZA!
-Greens showing the movie Black Gold at 7 tonight
-Elections will take place on Tuesday April 24
-Brief discussion and description of all E-board positions (see Constitution)

Vice President, Paul Day, announced:
-Thank you everyone who has canvassed! Unfortunately the bill did not pass. We had approximately had 92 people call Senator Kasemeyer
-We have Adopt-a-Campus Thursday at 3. Meet in the Loch Raven room at 3.

Treasurer, Bryon Burzynski, announced:
-We have concession stands on Saturday April 14th and we need 10 people.

Director of Media Relations, Sean Lawlor, announced:
-We will be advertising for “The Take” and Concert for Democracy

Director of Events, Lauren McDade, announced:
-SGA Environmental Committee did not meet last week.
-We will be showing “The Take” on April 24th
-DC Trip next weekend Saturday, April 21

Director of Campaigns, Matt Bohle announced:
-We will be registering people to vote Thursday April 12
-Ryan Coleman will be coming to speak next week. He is running for Baltimore city council.
-Kieffer Mitchell, who is campaigning for mayor, will speak on Tuesday May 1 at 7:30
-
Director of Political Organizing, Alicia Schuller, announced:
- Dr. Robert Corell will speak about Global Climate Change Monday April 30 @ Sheppard Pratt Conference Center @ 5:15pm
-We will tabling April 16th and 17th
-Discussion: Maryland General Assembly session:
-The priorities did not consider Marylanders
-Is it more about politics than caring about Marylanders?
-People are more conservative than actual Democrats
-Smoking Ban, Minimum Wage

The Meeting adjourned at 6:05 pm. This group will meet again Tuesday, April 10, 2007.
