Minutes from General Meeting,

All 8 E-board members were present
Tracy Miller, our advisor, was present
14 people attended
President, Brian Ward, made the
following announcements:
· Darfur Awareness Day is being sponsored by URG, Amnesty, and
Hillel
on March 28
o We support this event and want to take part in it
· We have a new position, Director of Internet Communications
o This position is an appointed position
o This person must have experience will website design and is
accountable for the website, facebook, and Towson Progressive blog
· Thanks to everyone who went to TigerPride Day
· The Towson Progressive Alliance consists of the Greens, QSU,
TEA,
SEA, Amnesty. The Alliance is a coalition to promote social and
economic justice and awareness.
Vice President, Paul Day, made the following announcements:
· Canvassing for Healthcare for All will take place this
Saturday
o This is grassroots activism to extend healthcare in Maryland
· Adopt a Campus happening tomorrow (this event is postponed
again)
Treasurer, Bryon Burzynski made the following announcements:
· Bake sale and Merchandise sale next Thursday March 8 in the
Union on
the first floor
o Brian Ward will host a baking party at his house Wednesday
night
· Concession stands are planned for April 14th and 28th
Director of Media Relations, Sean Lawlor, made the following
announcements:
· The Towson Progressive will be released next Tuesday, the
articles
are due this Friday March 2nd
· There will be a poster making party to promote the movie "The
Ground
Truth" March 9 at 7 in the Susquehanna
Lauren McDade, Director of Events made the following announcements:
· We are showing "The Ground Truth" Tuesday March 13 in Lith
200 at
7:30
· Concert for Democracy will take place on May 11 in Paws from
7-11pm
o This event will have political speakers and bands
Matt Bohle, Director of Campaigns, made the following announcements:
· We will register people to vote in the next few months
· In the next few weeks we will receive information about the
Presidential candidates
Alicia Schuller, Director of Political Organizing, made the
following
announcements:
· Student Ambassador will start going to meetings after this
meeting
and will report back March 27th
· Flyering and tabling will take place March 5th and 6th
Jessi Baroody, a General member, made the following announcements:
· She is starting a show at WMTF-TV. The show will be a
political
debate show and a round table discussion
· This show is a great opportunity for this organization
Matt Celentano from Maryland
Health Care for All spoke:
· Maryland does a good job with insuring children however we
are 43rd
in the nation for insuring adults
· Grassroots advocacy for the Tobacco Tax for Health Care will
help
give many adults healthcare
The meeting was adjourned at 6pm.
The next meeting is scheduled for
March 6, 2007.
