Application Guidelines

New Applicants OR Past Participants

 

NEW APPLICANTS 

  1. Complete and electronically submit an application.

  2. Write and electronically submit a parent/guardian statement.

  3. Ask the teacher to electronically submit a teacher statement.

  4. When the application, parent/guardian statement, and the teacher statement are all received for review, you will be notified of acceptance status.

  5. To reserve a place in the program, a deposit will be requested.  Do not send money until the application review process is complete and you have received acceptance notification.

  6. Applications without these statements will not be considered for admission.     

Parents/Guardians: Statements describing learning characteristics are used to ensure the appropriateness of this program for new applicants.  Parents have unique opportunities to observe your child in a variety of settings across time. Provide anecdotal information about your child's learning characteristics and abilities in areas such as Language, Reasoning, Memory, Humor, Sensitivity, and Creativity. Specific examples ensure more accurate selection. Limit your remarks to the space provided on the Parent Recommendation Form.  This can be submitted electronically, or mailed with the application.  

 

New applicants need to submit an Application Form.  

New applicants also need a Parent Recommendation.   

New applicants also need a Teacher Recommendation.

Teachers: Please write a statement in the space provided on the Teacher Statement Form about the classroom performance and learning characteristics of this child in areas such as: Language, Reasoning, Memory, Humor, Sensitivity, and Creativity. Please be specific with examples when possible.

PAST PARTICIPANTS

 

past participants do not need to submit statements describing learning characteristics. 

past participants are automatically accepted provided space is available as of the date of the postmark.  To reserve a place in the program, a deposit will be requested.  Do not send money until the application review process is complete and you have received acceptance notification.

Past Participants only need a completed Application Form that can be submitted electronically or mailed to: Towson University/ PO Box 3591/ 8000 York Road/ Towson, MD 21252.  Use exact address!
