COSC Undergraduate and Graduate Open Labs: Utilization Procedures

Dear Students;

As you know, COSC maintains and operates Open Labs for our Undergraduate and Graduate students in YR 403 and YR 307 respectively.  For reasons of security, maintenance, and practicality - the operating procedures for these two facilities are as follows:

  • YR 403 will be opened and available when needed.

    • If the YR 403 Lab is closed during regular hours of operation, please see the COSC Lab Assistant on duty in YR 407 for access to that facility.

    • Both undergraduate and graduate COSC / CIS students are invited to utilize the YR 403 Open Lab.

  • YR 307 will have several PCs reserved for COSC Tutoring purposes, but will also maintain several PCs available for Open Lab Usage.  Please check the posted schedules for hours of operation.

    • If the YR 307 Lab is closed during posted hours of operation, please see the COSC Lab Assistant on duty in YR 407 for access to that facility.

    • Both undergraduate and graduate COSC / CIS students are invited to utilize the YR 403 Open Lab.

Utilization of the Desktop Scanner in YR 403:

  • Several of our courses require the use of the desktop scanner in YR 403.  As there is only one scanner, please use the PC connected to the scanner as a last resort - leaving that PC available for COSC students to complete their scanning assignments.

Thank you.
