Future planning and personal development

The Counseling Center assists students in personal life planning and decision making about one’s future in a variety of ways. The Career Center is the place to go if students seek information about making potential career choices. The Counseling Center can help if students feel that their career decision-making is complicated by personal concerns.

Individual Counseling

Professional staff are available by appointment for students who need assistance to:

  • improve decision making skills,
  • integrate life and academic goals,
  • manage academic and life changes,
  • make smooth transitions from high school to college or from college to work,
  • earn skills necessary for success in the world (e.g., confidence, stress management, communication skills, effective problem solving skills and decision-making strategies)
  • resolve personal challenges that can affect life and academic development (e.g., procrastination, poor concentration, multiple life stressors and limited social skills)
