Peer Education: Alcohol and Drug, Sexual Assault Awareness, Body Image/Eating Disorders and self care/ Psychological wellness

What is a peer educator?

Peer educators are:

  • Leaders

  • Role models

  • Teachers

The peer education experience not only gives students the chance to educate their peers about the importance of making healthy decisions, but it also helps them to gain public speaking skills, increase confidence, build rapport with class-mates and faculty and take on an important leadership role on campus and in the community.

Functions of peer educators:

1.  Campus Outreach

  • Classroom presentations 

  • Outreach for the following organizations:

    • Greek Life 

    • Athletics 

    • Residence Life 

    • Orientation 

    • Other student organizations and university departments

    Application Procedures:
