It’s recommended that you begin your formal career planning during the first year of college. That way you can give yourself the time you need to learn more about yourself, to research different careers and related majors, and to gain targeted experience in your chosen career field. However, if you’ve waited until your junior or senior year to begin thinking about your post-college career goals, here’s one critical piece of advice: Don’t panic! It’s never too late to begin intentionally planning for your career. And even if you’ve made some mistakes, it’s never too late to change course. One of the advantages of a liberal arts education like the one provided by TU is that it gives you the opportunity to acquire a broad range of transferable skills that can be used in a variety of career fields. And learning doesn’t stop when you finish college.
