Don’t rush into picking your major.

It can be a decidedly good thing to be undecided about your college major during the first year or two of college. Even if you think you know what you want to major in when you start college, leave your options open for a little while. Use your freshman and sophomore years to try out courses in a variety of majors while meeting your general education requirements. Read about different college majors and the types of careers they can prepare you for. Talk to professors and other students in the different majors you are considering. Talk with a career counselor. Talk to your advisor. Taking the time to fully explore your options will ensure that the major you pick is really the right one for you.
