Maryland Loaner Lab (MDLL) Program

Lab SuppliesThe Maryland Loaner Lab (MDLL) is a FREE resource for Maryland middle and high school science teachers that brings a variety of investigations to the classroom. These hands-on, student centered activities which are aligned with Maryland State curriculum.

Program Details and Eligibility

Maryland teachers become qualified to borrow kits by completing a training offered free of charge through the Center for STEM Excellence.

  • Kits are FREE and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis
  • 14-day loan period
  • Each kit contains materials for 10 student workstations and reagents for one class. Teachers may request reagent refills for up to four additional classes.
  • Teachers can only borrow one kit at a time.
  • Kits available to individual teachers for their classes.
  • Kits shipped to and from the schools via FedEx at no cost to school.
  • Kit requests must be received at least three weeks prior to borrow date.

What is in the box?

Each MDLL kit provides a student-centered, inquiry-based, hands-on investigation experience for students.  Each kit provides material for 10 workstations:

  • teacher’s manual
  • curriculum
  • student worksheets
  • lab equipment
  • reagents
